Wialon has kicked off its annual IoT Project of the Year competition for 2024, a global contest that celebrates the most cutting-edge projects from around the world.
The IoT Project of the Year competition provides a unique platform for companies utilising telematics and IoT technologies to showcase their innovative solutions.
Wialon aims to promote the adoption of modern tools across industries to solve key business challenges. It also creates an opportunity for IoT leaders worldwide to exchange ideas, gain recognition for their achievements, and drive the telematics field forward.
“B2B tech companies often fly under the radar in terms of public awareness, so recognition by peers is incredibly valuable, especially in a specialised industry such as IoT and telematics,” said Andrei Liatsetski, Head of Project Implementation at Wialon.
Any service provider, regardless of size or industry, that has implemented a fleet management project using IoT and telematics solutions between January 2023 and 30 April 2024 is eligible to enter.
Entries will be rigorously evaluated by a judging panel of global IoT and telematics experts across criteria like scalability, innovation, real-world effectiveness, and practicability. Up to 40 finalists will be announced on 19 September, ahead of the grand winners being revealed at an awards ceremony in Dubai on 13 October.
The 12 winners of IoT Project of the Year will receive widespread publicity and promotion throughout the international IoT ecosystem, plus $1,000 marketing prizes each. The top four winners will also get an invitation to exhibit at Wialon’s IoT Zone or up to $2,000 towards travel for a Wialon industry event of their choice.
Now in its 4th year, Wialon’s IoT Project of the Year contest has highlighted an incredibly diverse array of award-winning IoT use cases. Previous winners spanned cold supply chain monitoring, AI-powered video telematics, construction fleet fuel optimisation, public transit management, precision agriculture, Arctic cargo emergency response, sub-Saharan fleet tracking, and wildlife conservation.
“This year’s IoT project of the year competition aims to bring again into the spotlight the best minds and the most effective projects in our industry, and we place a strong emphasis on diversity. We understand that great results and innovative solutions can be achieved just as well in projects for a small construction company with 50 vehicles, for example, or a big taxi fleet with 1,000 cars,” added Liatsetski.
“All innovative projects and experts deserve industry-wide recognition, and that’s what the Wialon IoT project of the year global competition is about.”
Submissions are being accepted free of charge online until 2 August 2024.
